Health, Wellbeing Discussion – HIV Testing Week

On February 12, 2026, the Parents Forum hosted a specialized session focused on a critical health and community initiative: HIV Testing Week. The event featured guest speakers from Positive East, an organization dedicated to creating better futures for people living with HIV.
The discussion centered on the profound importance of early testing, emphasizing that proactive health management is a cornerstone of overall wellbeing for both parents and their children.
“By bringing together community voices and expert insights, the event aimed to empower parents with the knowledge to protect and support their children’s development.”
In addition to the specific health focus, the forum addressed the broader topic of “Wellbeing for Our Children and How It Affects Their Educational Performance.” The session provided a platform for parents to explore how physical health, mental wellbeing, and social environments—including the challenges of bullying—directly impact a child’s ability to thrive academically.

The forum was broadcast live from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. via 75 Derby Radio. For those seeking ongoing support or information, the forum continues to serve as a weekly hub for parenting resources and community engagement.
