Celebrating Culture and Community: ITVYP Showcases Impactful Initiatives at the African Carnival

On Saturday, 29th August 2026, Parsloes Park in Dagenham vibrated with rich rhythms, colorful displays, and vibrant energy during the annual African Carnival. Bringing together families and community members from across the borough, the festive occasion provided a magnificent backdrop for It Takes a Village Youth and Parents (ITVYP) to showcase our ongoing mission and grassroots initiatives. 

Set against the lively celebration of cultural heritage and togetherness, our dedicated team engaged with visitors, sharing how ITVYP continues to empower migrant and ethnic minority families, bridge intergenerational gaps, and advocate for youth wellbeing across the community.

Throughout the event, our interactive exhibition highlighted ITVYP’s core programs, ranging from youth leadership forums and joint parent workshops to holistic family advocacy and mental health signposting. Festival-goers had the opportunity to speak directly with our team, discover tailored support resources, and learn how to get involved.
