ITVYP outreach at the African Carnival festival

On 5th July 2025, the vibrant energy of the African Carnival festival filled Longbridge Road Park in Barking, as community members gathered for a celebration of culture. The event was organised by African Parents in Europe, and provided a colourful backdrop for families to connect and share in their rich heritage.
The festival showcased the continent’s diverse traditions and fostering a powerful sense of unity and pride among attendees of all ages.
Amidst the festivities, the event also served as a vital platform for community empowerment. Aisha, the director of ITVYP, highlighted the important work of ‘It Takes a Village Youth and Parents’ (ITVYP). She passionately outlined the organisation’s mission of supporting youth and parents, which focus on nurturing and uplifting the younger generation. Her speech underscored the festival’s dual purpose: not only to celebrate the present but also to invest in the future by supporting and empowering youth.
