Roots, Rhythms, and Reels: A Day of Unplugged Connection

On 21st March 2026, ITVYP hosted the latest family event. The air was filled with a soulful mix of classical elegance and pure community spirit. The tone was set perfectly by a young girl playing the violin, her music weaving through the hall and providing a warm welcome to families. It wasn’t just a background performance; it was a testament to the incredible talent within our youth, proving from the very first note that this day was going to be about celebrating the unique voices of the next generation.

The heart of the event beat strongest at the “Roots and Branches” station, where youth and children sat down to draw their own family trees. This wasn’t just an art project—it was a deliberate move to spark quality time and conversation.

As kids and youth sketched out their lineage, they weren’t just drawing names; they were uncovering stories, tracing heritages, and strengthening their sense of identity alongside their parents. Watching a teenager explain a family connection to a younger sibling or a parent share a memory while holding a crayon created the kind of genuine, “offline” bond that ITVYP strives to foster.

Things got delightfully heated during the main event: a candid debate between parents and youth on the impact of social media on family life. Far from a dry lecture, this was an eye-opening exchange where the youth showed incredible maturity, dissecting both the “likes” and the “limits” of their digital worlds. They offered sharp insights into how social media keeps them connected to global movements while being brutally honest about the pressure to be “perfect” and the distraction it causes at the dinner table. It was a powerful bridge-building moment that left parents with a much deeper understanding of the digital landscape their children navigate every day.

Talks were also provided to the parents and youth.

Of course, it wasn’t all deep debate and genealogy, there was plenty of room for pure fun! The bouncy castle was a hit from start to finish, serving as the ultimate energy-release valve for the younger children. While the older kids were busy debating and drawing, the little ones were busy defying gravity, their laughter echoing throughout the venue. By the end of the day, whether through music, art, debate, or a good old-fashioned bounce, every family left with their spirits high and their connections just a little bit stronger.
